Our Mission
Rays of Sunshine Family Child Care’s purpose is to create a welcoming, safe, and nurturing environment for children to develop positive self-concept. Our curriculum and materials are developmentally appropriate and are designed to help each child learn and grow academically, socially/emotionally, and physically at their own pace.
About the Program
Rays of Sunshine Family Child Care strives to achieve the program’s mission by designing "a learn through play" atmosphere. There are a variety of child-guided as well as adult-guided activities in order for the children to explore their individual interests. These activities are developed to explore 6 content areas in any given theme or topic. The six content areas include: 1) Development of scientific knowledge and disposition 2) Social, emotional and cultural development; including connections to family community 3) Language communication development; literature and early literacy 4) Physical development; health and well being 5) Development through the expressive arts and 6) Development of the mathematical mind.
About the Owner
Rachel Wingert graduated summa cum laude from Bridgewater State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Education and Care and Special Education Inclusive Practices in 2015. She worked for a variety of centers, such as the Brockton Day Nursery in Brockton, MA, the Old Colony YMCA early childhood program in East Bridgewater, MA, and the Carriage House in Milton, MA. Rachel transitioned over to be a nanny and help with patient care for a medically fragile toddler diagnosed with Truncus Arteriosis and other complex medical conditions in addition to caring for her premature twin sister. Rachel continued to nanny for families in the Milton, MA area ranging from four months old to seven years old before opening up Rays Of Sunshine Family Child Care. In addition to being a certified early childhood teacher, she also continues her certification in First Aid and CPR each year.
